Face and Leg Waxing
Your First Wax…
- Legs must have at least 3-4 weeks worth of hair growth for your first wax.
- A warm wax will be spread on the area to be waxed and a cloth is pressed on top and then ripped off with a quick movement against the direction of hair growth.
- This removes the wax, the hair and any dead skin cells leaving the area smooth.
- Your first wax may only last three weeks and you may notice your hair growing even sooner then that.
This is because your hair grows in cycles, but with each wax you will notice your hair will grow in much finer and slower allowing more time in between waxes.

After Wax…
Doing any of these things could cause irritation or break outs.
- Please do not do any of the following for at least 24 hours after your wax:
- Steam
- Sauna
- Jacuzzi
- Swim
- Work out inside or outside
- Tan inside or outside
- Wear tight jeans or pants
- Please do the following after your wax:
- Loofa the waxed area daily to prevent ingrown hairs and to slough-off dead skin.
- Moisturize the waxed area daily to keep skin smooth.
If any irritation occurs on the treated area, apply calamine lotion, Neosporine ® or cortisone cream.
If ingrown hairs occur then apply a hot compress for 10 to 20 minutes and then apply calamine lotion.
FAQ…
Can I use a numbing cream before I wax?
We do not recommend this. They can interfere with the application of the wax and there could be a reaction to them. The best way to minimize any discomfort is to take an ibuprofen before you wax and one after your wax. If you are feeling a great deal of discomfort afterward icing the area can help. You should only need to do this for your first couple of times. With each wax there is less hair to be removed causing less discomfort.
Can I get waxed if I am pregnant?
Yes you can, but please check with your doctor. Also, just like being on your period, being pregnant can leave you more sensitive.
What kind of wax do you use?
We use a soft, warm (Chocolate/ Expresso) GiGi wax.
When can’t I wax?
- If you have used a chemical peel or Alpha Hydroxy acid product within the last 5 days prior to waxing.
- If you have used any type of Retin-A medications with in the last 5 days prior to waxing.
- If you have used Accutane with in the last year prior to getting waxed.
- If you have a sun burn or laser burn in the area to be waxed.
